We are an electric, avant-garde rock quintet with leanings toward psychedelic and desert rock. Guitar and sax form colourful patterns and harmony, weaving through angular bass grooves, driven drums and punchy vocals. This is all warped together with a swathe off low riffs and psychedelic noises. Influences include Captain Beefheart, Queens of the Stone Age, Roxy Music, Bowie, Sabbath and Alison Mosshart.
The Sandells were formed in Manchester in 2006 by vocalist/bassist Tim Lyons (The Things/Harvey’s Rabbit/Red Turns To) after stints in Fonik, and the free form Warrington Improv Collective, bringing him closer to the realms of experimental avant garde, and his interest in jazz.
Tim coined the tag “krautpunk” to assert the two main sensibilities that inform his music…that of the spirit and sound of 70s German bands such as Can and Neu!…and the attitude of Punk
Fütumche! are a three-piece post-punk outfit from Coventry. Their music is a whirlwind of eclectic soundscapes and influences.
Often described as unique, aggressive, sinister, and surreal, they incorporate lyrical themes that are unsettling and outside the norm of tradition.
