The Tin, Central Committee and Creature Lab are pleased to announce that we will be bringing THE UTOPIA STRONG to the city.
The Utopia Strong are a semi-modular trio, delivering medical grade music to the visionary music head. Kavus Torabi, Michael York and Steve Davis have fused Modular Synthesisers with conventional and traditional instruments to create a weird and joyous celebration of all that is good about left field psychedelic music.
Kavus Torabi is an experimental/psychedelic musician with a long history in the field, including as a member of The Cardiacs.
Steve Davis was the most successful professional Snooker player of the 1980’s, now spending his time collecting left field music from around the globe, presenting a monthly radio show with Kravus and cementing his interest in the modular synth as a member of The Utopia Strong.
Michael York is a multi instrumentalist and luthier, working mainly with modular/analogue synths and woodwinds (primarily focusing on bagpipes, reeds and flutes of Europe and the Near East.
Support comes from Gunther Prague. Like Shellac vs Cardiacs or Minutemen playing metal, Gunther Prague recorded their second long player with Steve Albini in Chicago in 2017, released on their own Creature Lab label.
Tickets £10 in advance, £12 on the door.
