Crewdson & Cevanne (Hugh Jones & Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian are a modern day English folk duo creating an extraordinary sonic world of electronics and folk, blending their voices with harp and found sounds played on their DIY electronic instruments.

On Friday 29 April, Crewdson & Cevanne will be celebrating the launch of their new EP, Rites for Crossing Water, with a live performance at the Coal Vaults, Coventry Canal Basin, as part of the Waterways Festival.

In 2021 Crewdson & Cevanne were commissioned by Ludic Rooms for Random String programme for the City of Culture Programme, to create a sound and video installation in response to Coventry Canal. Their piece, Rites for Crossing Water creates a 21st Century folk narrative of the waterway using field recordings and music. Crewdson & Cevanne collaborated with a Coventry-based animator, Jess Glover on the installation and her work features in an accompanying music video and publication, also being launched on Friday 29 April.
