Suiss psychedelic rockers Dirty Sound Magnet return to Coventry with support from local favourites Satsangi and Strip Search Tramp, presented by Catch 22 Promotions on their post-Covid relaunch show.
After over 300 shows all over Europe, two studio albums and a live album since 2017, the Swiss vintage psych-rock power trio released their third album titled DSM-III in early 2022 (available on Hummus Records).
The Music – power, groove and emotion
The band’s DNA can be traced back to the ancestral ‘Golden Age of Rock’ (60s, 70s), but instead of copying past heroes, Dirty Sound Magnet worked hard on breaking new ground. The band’s approach has often been compared to Led Zeppelin for their groove, energy and instrumental virtuosity, to a more violent version of Pink Floyd and to the mysticism of The Doors. With the addition of modern psych influences (Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizard, …) and sarcastic lyrics grounded in today’s social turmoil, the DSM magic formula is complete.
Live, the band is known for its kinetic performances and strong stage presence. DSM’s dynamic range goes from all out power to moments of silence build into the music. The years of experience have taught the band to deliver solid shows night after night while leaving room for the unexpected to happen. Every show is a unique experience for the band and the crowd…
Style: Psych Rock, Blues Rock, Funk Rock, Progressive Rock, Experimental Rock.
Satsangi are “a cocktail of Indian transience, ballsy rock ‘n’ roll and tripped out psych.” They tour internationally and have played shows and festivals with The Kills, Fields, The Primitives, The Moons, Dr Feelgood, Elvis Costello, James, Imelda May, Van Morrison. Martha Reeves, Steve Winwood, Seasick Steve, and Wilko Johnson.
Having landed in full disaster-vision at Deerstock Festival in Summer 2019, Strip Search Tramp (SST) have been building a solid reputation on the Midlands live circuit with their visually enhanced, blistering Si-Fi, b-movie inspired punk and roll show. SST are no ordinary band, songs trawl a wealth of obscure musical and cultural references. Featuring a who’s who of Midlands based musicians from the punk and psych rock world, SST released the critically acclaimed “Assume the Position” EP in 2019. The band have returned to work with on the forthcoming Debut Album “B-Movie Disasters” due for release in spring 2023.
