In The Moment presents Joe O’Donnell’s Shkayla – progressive Celtic rock
Coventry resident Joe O’Donnell, born in Limerick, Ireland, is one of the finest Celtic rock violinists and composers. Best known for his fiery and innovative playing in East of Eden, Headstone and The Woods Band (pre-Steeleye Span), he also recorded with Thin Lizzy and Henry McCullough. His acclaimed 1977 concept album, ‘Gaodhal’s Vision’, featuring Rory Gallagher, was remastered and re-released in 2017.
Joe’s long-established band Shkayla (‘Stories’) fuses the spirit of the Celtic tradition and progressive rock. It features top Midlands musicians Si Hayden, Martin Barter, Karen Milne and Adrian Litvinoff. The band delivers enormous energy, and also the delicacy of Celtic music.
