Sunday 19th June (Fathers’ Day) saw The Tin, in collaboration with the Coventry Canal Society and Valley Cruises, host The Annual Steam Rally & Canal Basin Festival. By all accounts it was a great success! With over 400 people attending throughout what was a lovely sunny day with fantastic live music, food, craft stalls, rides and healthy quantities of Byatts ale!
With thanks to Coventry City Council, we were able to host a stage in the Canal Basin’s peninsula featuring live music from Chris Tobin, Cliff Hands, Driftwood, Maria Barham and Scarecrow, plus a fashion show from City College students and local independent designers.
On a second stage outside The Coal Vaults were further performances from David Goody, Steve Westlake, Kellimarie Willis and Joe Rees, and a special demonstration from our resident Thai Chi instructor Patrick Saults. Inside the Coal Vaults is where we hosted the beer festival with a selection of 12 different beers for the boaters and visitors to enjoy.
Thank you to everybody who came down and made it such a wonderful day, we’re already looking forward to next year!
