Grace Lightman + Amelia Roberts & Calton Kelly

There’s something timeless about Grace Lightman. Maybe it’s that honeyed voice that ever sogently tugs at your heartstrings. Perhaps it’s those careful and considered nods to the iconic moments, faces and places of musical history. Or it could be the turn and twist or her songs, at once both familiar and fresh. Ultimately, it all adds up to be something unique, borrowing from, redrafting and bridging the then and now.

Just ask Toronto eccentric RNB popster Chris A Cummings – aka Marker Starling – whose own ups, downs, sorrows and successes he’s been chronicling in sunshine-sweet, romantic avant-pop songs for two decades now, each one a postcard from a different moment in his life.

Miles Cooper-Seaton + Black Spring

Miles Cooper-Seaton + Black Spring

“Party music this is not. This is music that I imagine many people listening to, on the train, eyes closed, trying to imagine they’re alone. In the car, in the morning, as dawn breaks, windows rolled down, wind rushing in. It’s music for transient moments. It’s lonesome music. But it is not about running away or being defeated, although I had to do those things to get here”.

Miles Cooper-Seaton makes music that is the personification of some inner emergency; loss, anxiety, dread. However he excels in weaving these themes into twisting, entrancing musical wonders that will lead you on a twisting path to a musical experience like no other, creating a sense of solidarity and understanding between musicican and audience.
Miles Cooper Seaton ‘Phases in Exile’ will be released 27th October 2017 – Ascension Hall Recordings

Supported by Black Spring, an emerging trio from Milton Keynes that specialise in addictively repetitive music formed from a palette of processed tapes, voiced, drums, percussion and synths.
