Independent Venue Week 2016

Monday 25th January – Sunday 31st January

Independent Venue Week is a 7 day celebration of the small music venues around the UK and a nod to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out.

These venues give artists their first experience of playing live in front of an audience and for fans, somewhere to get up close to artists that one day, may well be playing stadiums and festival main stages.

As part of this celebration we have programmed some great events:

    • Thursday – Winter of ’82 performs here with MiMu gloves. These gloves are being pioneered as accessible music tech and changing the way in which artist’s perform their music, the gloves respond to hand and arm movements of the performer and convert them into musical sounds. Tickets
    • Friday – Coventry Pride hosts its first event, Love Music, Hate Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia, as part of the calendar of events in the lead up to Pride 18th-19th June 2016. The evening will include performances from Duck Thieves + Shackleford + Bad News Everyone, a DJ set from Alien She and Poets and Spoken Word from Andrea Mbarushimana. Tickets
    • Sunday – Spotlight presents Steve Westlake transfixing audiences by his spellbinding vocals, lyrics and guitar work.
