Winter Of ’82 is the musical adventures of singer/songwriter Kris Halpin. Growing up in rural North Warwickshire, Kris was obsessive about music from an early age. Absorbing influences as diverse as Nick Drake, NIN, Tears For Fears & Roni Size; Kris brings a playful love of genre-hopping to his autobiographical songwriting.
Since 2014 Kris has worked with Imogen Heap and the Mi.Mu gloves team to develop the potential of the Mi.Mu gloves as Accessible Music Tech, the gloves turn hand and arm movements of the artist into musical instruments. Kris’ work with the gloves has been covered by BBC Radio 1, Channel 4, The Guardian, The Independent, Huffington Post and so on. Kris has performed with the gloves at such varied and prestigious venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Olympic Park and Abbey Road Studios. His ‘gloves-first’ live show, The Gloves Are On, is touring in 2016 and here at The Tin 28th January as part of Independent Venue Week.
