My Big Sister presents Breakfast With Apollo, an artist-run community and collaboration night

She Makes War is the gloom-pop solo project of Bristol based multi-instrumentalist, filmmaker and digital polymath Laura Kidd. A pacifist force of nature with a punk spirit and a serious work ethic, Kidd’s mission is a peaceful but provocative one – to create breathtakingly honest music and share her art with the world, levelling with her community of music lovers as peers.

Dubbed “alt-folk”, “ambient dream-pop”, “a modern musical Boudica” and an “empowering force to be reckoned with”, her creative one-woman shows on grungey electric guitar, claustrophobic vocal loops, ukulele, marching drum, foot percussion and megaphone have been captivating audiences around the UK and Europe playing her own shows and supporting the likes of Suede, New Model Army, The Levellers, Midge Ure, This Is The Kit, The Magic Numbers, Nadine Shah, Chris Helme and Drugstore.

Sick of badly run gigs and passionless promoters, Laura launched her regular Breakfast With Apollo music nights in London in 2012, seeking to improve the gigging experience for bands and audiences by creating a coherent and cohesive format, encouraging collaborations between bands, educating both parties on sensible gig pricing and the consequences of this and promoting the shows with endless enthusiasm and attention to detail. They have been a resounding success in London and Bristol and this show at The Tin will be one of the first to venture to other towns.

With support from local legends STYLUSBOY and He Is a Pegasus.
