‘Spiky basslines, thick wedges of guitar, and a restless energy that drags you right in to the heart of their spirited concoction’ – Gold Flake Paint (Suggested Friends review), 2017 ‘
SUGGESTED FRIENDS formed in November 2015 out of a mutual love of big choruses and dad-rock guitar solos. After relentlessly touring the UK, releasing their first 7” single ‘Chicken’ on Odd Box’s 100 Club, and building up a substantial clutch of festival slots including Indietracks 2017, Suggested Friends are bringing out their first 12” LP of bittersweet power pop in November, via Odd Box Records. For The Rabbits recently compared the band to a mixture between War On Drugs, Martha, and Paul Simon – others have ventured comparisons to The Cars and Tullycraft.
WOLF GIRL are a garage pop four-piece based in South London who write about sexuality, gender and anxiety. It’s been said that they both do and don’t sound like the Ramones, and they have also been compared to both the Shop Assistants and Bratmobile. Their first LP ‘We Tried’ was released on Odd Box Records in March of 2016, followed by a 7″ single in May 2017.’
Now joined by Nim Chimpsky, Named after a failed experiment to teach an ape to talk, Nim Chimpsky have thus far lived up to their namesake, producing an angry, noisy whirlwind of acerbic feminist pop you can dance to.
